Alpha Software Agreement

PlaybackPilot is currently in alpha development. By using our software and website, you agree to these terms and understand the alpha nature of our product.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing PlaybackPilot's website or using our software, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Alpha Software Disclaimer

PlaybackPilot is currently in alpha development. This means:

  • Features may be incomplete, unstable, or subject to change
  • Data loss or corruption may occur
  • Regular backups of your music projects are strongly recommended
  • Software is provided "as-is" without warranty
  • We may discontinue or modify features at any time

3. Use of Service

Permitted Use

You may use PlaybackPilot to:

  • Organize and manage your music production projects
  • Track your creative progress and session notes
  • Access features as provided during the alpha period

Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the software for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the software
  • Share your alpha access with others without permission
  • Use the software to infringe on others' intellectual property
  • Attempt to overload or disrupt our services

4. Your Content and Data

You retain full ownership of your music, projects, and creative content. PlaybackPilot:

  • Does not claim any rights to your music or projects
  • Stores your data locally on your device, not on our servers
  • Cannot access your music files or project content
  • Recommends regular backups as the software is in alpha

5. Privacy and Data Collection

Our data collection practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy. In summary:

  • We collect minimal data (email addresses, basic usage analytics)
  • Your music data stays local on your device
  • We do not sell or share your personal information
  • You can request data deletion at any time

6. Access and Pricing

Playback Pilot Basic is currently free to download and use. A paid Pro tier is in development. When Pro launches:

  • Basic will remain free permanently — no features will be moved out of Basic into Pro
  • Pro will be a separate, richer tier for producers who want deeper tooling
  • Purchases (when available) will be one-time and processed by our payment provider
  • Alpha users may receive special pricing considerations

Refund policy for future paid purchases is documented at /refunds.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • PlaybackPilot is provided "as-is" without any warranties
  • We are not liable for any data loss, project corruption, or damages
  • Your use of the alpha software is at your own risk
  • Total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software

8. Intellectual Property

PlaybackPilot software and website content are protected by intellectual property laws:

  • Software, design, and documentation are owned by Stay Reflective Company
  • You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works
  • Alpha access grants limited, non-transferable usage rights only

9. Termination

We may terminate your access to PlaybackPilot at any time for any reason, including violation of these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the software and may be required to delete it from your devices.
